I graduated from Cambridge in 2017 with a double First in Economics, ranking 6th in my final year. Currently I am conducting research at the Economics Faculty of the University of Tokyo. For A-level I studied Maths, Economics and Computer Science to A2, achieving A* in all three. I also took Further Maths, and Government and Politics to AS level achieving an A grade in both.
I seek to give students an understanding beyond what is normally expected, giving students a more coherent view of the subject and enabling them to excel by developing depth as well as breadth of knowledge. For university application preparation, I believe that challenging students to ensure they have an adequate understanding both of their subject as well as their own reasoning behind their course choice, enables them to develop their powers of expression which are essential for both the interview and the supervisions/tutorials they will encounter at university.
I have extensive experience helping other's formulate their UCAS application, giving individually tailored advice for personal statements as well as providing guidance for interview preparation. I have conducted over 20 mock interviews for candidates applying to Cambridge, offering immediate and detailed feedback, as well as personalised follow-up.
I enjoy engaging in critical discourse about many prevalent social issues both in the realm of economics and more broadly concerning the advancement of society. Outside of my course, I spend time playing racquet sports and running. I also have an interest in the Japanese economy, language and culture.
